Dr Quyen Nguyen

Dr. Quyen Nguyen is the proud owner of Dental Folk and was named Lake Macquarie’s Outstanding Young Business Leader of the Year in consecutive years, 2025 and 2026. Since taking over the practice in 2023, she has focused on creating an efficient, caring clinic where patients feel heard, supported and empowered through education to take charge of their oral health.

A graduate of the University of Adelaide, Dr. Quyen gained experience across rural South Australia and the Newcastle region before joining the practice in 2018. Her love of coastal living drew her to Newcastle, but the relationships she has built with her patients have made it home. Having been part of the practice for almost a decade, she loves seeing familiar faces move through different stages of life, watching younger patients grow up and welcoming the newborns of patients she has cared for over the years.

Dr. Quyen’s vision for Dental Folk is to champion oral health through clear explanations, thoughtful treatment and a team that genuinely cares. She believes understanding your oral health is the first step towards improving it and wants every patient to feel confident asking questions and making informed decisions about their care.

Smile restoration and confidence building remain at the heart of her clinical work. The transformations she sees every day, from someone feeling comfortable in the dental chair to smiling freely again, continue to motivate her as both a dentist and a practice owner.

Her commitment to learning sees her regularly dedicating weekends to professional development. She has also contributed to dental outreach programs in Nepal, Vietnam and Brazil, experiences that have deepened her appreciation for the difference accessible, compassionate dental care can make in people’s lives.

Beyond Professional Practice

Outside of her clinical commitments, Dr. Nguyen pursues diverse interests including exploration of new activities and strength training. She approaches each day as an opportunity for continued learning, professional development and making meaningful contributions both within and beyond the clinical environment.
